Currently, Creative Assembly studio is developing the galactic strategy Total War: Warhammer 40,000 and periodically shows various elements of the game. Recently, journalists were able to get acquainted with the project: gameplay footage and impressions began to be published online.
The project is based on WarCore: it is noted that this is the first game in the franchise on this engine. An IGN journalist said that WarCore's capabilities were best demonstrated when he paused the game and decided to zoom the camera closer to the battle:
You could make out different units splattered with blood, or fighters leaping over cover. Watching my Space Marines' chainswords — with their sparking motorized teeth — clash with Ork axes while bullets whizzed overhead was truly exhilarating.
Players in Total War: Warhammer 40,000 will have the opportunity to create and paint their Space Marine chapter. Real paint names produced by Games Workshop are used. For example, among the options were Caledor Sky, Screamer Pink, and Mournfang Brown. Pink equipment is one of the available options.
You can add Total War: Warhammer 40,000 to your Steam wishlist here. The developers have not yet specified a concrete release date or window for the project on the page.
