Cosplayer showed Astarion's adventures from Baldur's Gate 3 before and after the nautiloid crash

Thanks to cosplayer Alexey "Aoki" Kochetkov, users learned what Astarion was doing on the eve of the events of Baldur's Gate 3, and were also able to admire the famous bloodsucker, who was infected with an illithid parasite, once again.

Thanks to photographer Kira Mitenkova, as well as models Natasha "Narga" Kochetkova, Artyom "Nova" Spivachenko, and Kristina Rein, he showed Astarion's adventures in a tavern before the character got on the illithid ship, as well as events on the shore after the nautiloid crash.

Astarion is a high elf who was a vampire spawn for a long time and was subservient to the vampire Cazador — the patriarch of the powerful and influential Zarr family. The hero's usual life changed dramatically after being abducted by illithids, as the larval parasite implanted in his brain unexpectedly gave him immunity to sunlight and freed him from his master's total control.

Astarion's appearance is refined and fully reflects his aristocratic origin. He has pale skin, piercing red eyes, and a lush mane of curly snow-white hair. Two scars from a vampire bite are clearly visible on his neck, and sharp fangs periodically flash from under his lips.

A sinister poem in the language of the Underworld is carved on the character's back, serving as an important part of the storyline and a reminder of his enslaved past. This character's personality is incredibly complex, combining selfishness, caustic humor, and deep psychological trauma.

Astarion often masks his fear and vulnerability behind a facade of arrogance, flirtatiousness, and ostentatious hedonism. He tends to approve of cruel, chaotic, or selfish actions by the player, as he has long lived by the law of force and genuinely despises altruism. At the same time, as relationships develop, he can reveal himself as a loyal ally who desperately seeks security and genuine affection.
