New A Plague Tale Abandons Ray Tracing - Asobo Shows How to Optimize Games on Unreal 5

News 0

French studio Asobo, known for Microsoft Flight Simulator and A Plague Tale, has once again demonstrated its technical capabilities. On an RTX 5080, the game runs in 4K with DLAA, ultra settings at 75 fps. When using DLSS Quality, the indicator rises to approximately 120 fps.

The developers completely abandoned ray tracing. Instead, Asobo used its own well-optimized engine, proving that impressive graphics in AAA games can be achieved without RT.

The game also performs well on budget hardware. Even with a GTX 1650, it provides higher performance than the previous A Plague Tale Requiem.

Digital Foundry came to similar conclusions after analyzing the console versions. On PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X, modes with priority for quality and performance are available. The editorial team called the game "technically flawless on all platforms."
