Bethesda updated Skyrim again after complaints about broken mods - players ask them to stop
Mod enthusiasts are very afraid to install updates.
This month, Bethesda Game Studios released a major technical update for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition. It was designed to fix several bugs, improve the performance of Creation mods, and expand the mod storage on consoles. The PC version of the game also received the update.
Even before the update's release, players urged Bethesda not to release it, fearing for their modifications. Their fears were confirmed: on the release day, numerous complaints about broken mods appeared on the forum.
A week later, Bethesda Game Studios returned to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and released another patch — it fixes bugs that caused game crashes:
- Fixed a crash that occurred when opening the on-screen keyboard and entering text in the main menu on PlayStation.
- Fixed a crash that occurred when repeatedly opening the map on Xbox.

The developer noted this time that this hotfix "should not affect the load order [mod load order]". Nevertheless, some continued to call for a halt, for example, Mortal_Indeed stated: "How about stopping updating the game and letting modders work?". Experienced users suggest that those who are dissatisfied should not install the update or find a "non-Steam" version of the game to play peacefully with their favorite mods.
According to comments, this update really helped fix crashes on consoles.
