Crimson Desert will receive fewer patches, and players are very happy about it
Some players are already tired of regular updates.
Crimson Desert's release was not very smooth. At launch, Pearl Abyss's new game received "mixed" reviews, but the developers quickly managed to turn the situation around. They began to actively release patches: not only with technical fixes, but also with new content and additional features.
They recently returned with update 2.00.00, after which they renamed the game to Crimson Desert Enhanced. Now the reviews on Steam are "very positive," and the developers are reallocating resources to work on the expansion, so the pace of updates will be reduced.
In an interview with IGN, Pearl Abyss team representative Will Powers explained:
I think this is a good "transition point." We've set a great pace of updates, constantly expanding the game world. With version 2.0, we've become very deliberate about how we name everything. This is already a truly cohesive, complete gaming experience.
Powers explained that "updates will still be coming, but I think their scale, scope, and release pace after this point will not be the same. We are using this opportunity to redirect resources from regular updates to working on the upcoming DLC."
Crimson Desert fans welcomed this news with joy. Some were already "tired" of constant patches, as modifications would break. Users like AspirationalChoker even stopped playing: they started waiting for a refined version of the game.
The developers have not yet announced the release date for the expansion.
