Escape from Tarkov to get Arc Raiders-style mechanics, engine update, and new map in 2026 - Update Roadmap

News

The developers have big plans for this year.

In late August, Battlestate Games studio published an update roadmap for Escape from Tarkov until the end of 2026.

In September, the developers plan to launch a ranked league system. Players will be assigned to a group of 50 people and will compete based on the amount of experience earned (seasonal character data will be taken into account). Depending on the result, a player can be promoted, remain at the same level, or be demoted – various rewards are provided for each rank. They also promise a rework of the "Lighthouse" location and the Watchman's quest chain.

In September-October, Escape from Tarkov plans to add prestige to PvE, as well as rework bot spawn systems in the PvE Zone and artificial intelligence behavior. A rework of raid connection is also announced.

In October, the engine is intended to be updated to Unity 6, game optimization improved, and vegetation visuals updated; and a Halloween event held.

In December, the second season is expected, along with a simplified GPS system and an element in the spirit of Arc Raiders – knockdown, revive, and healing mechanics for allies.

The roadmap presents a "preliminary plan" of updates, so not all of the listed items may appear in Escape from Tarkov this year or in the stated form.
