It seems Grand Theft Auto VI will have a larger marketing campaign than one might expect. According to emerging information, representatives of Rockstar Games discussed with Miami-Dade County authorities the possibility of temporarily decorating some city objects in the style of Vice City — the city from the upcoming game (it was inspired by Miami).
Reportedly, the presentation for officials was held at the end of June this year. A representative of the administration confirmed that "several negotiations with Rockstar regarding potential opportunities related to the release of GTA VI" took place, and added — nothing has been agreed upon yet:
Nothing has been officially agreed upon or approved, and any idea will have to go through the appropriate review and approval process. Given Miami-Dade's clear influence on the game, we believe there may be a unique opportunity to generate additional revenue for the county while showcasing Miami-Dade to a mass audience.
Today at 10:00 PM Moscow time, the presentation "Grand Theft Auto VI: Extended Showcase" will take place. The premiere will be on Netflix, and six hours later, Rockstar Games will publish it on the studio's official YouTube channel.
GTA VI is expected to be released on November 19 this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Nothing has been reported yet about the PC version's release window.
