Rob Nelson, co-head of Rockstar North, told The New York Times in an interview that he completed the studio's new game in February 2026. The entire GTA VI story took about 80 hours. However, the developer did not aim to see absolutely everything: he completed the main storyline and some additional objectives that influenced the narrative.
Therefore, with full exploration of Leonida and completion of side quests, players will spend significantly more time in the game. Rockstar also stated that the GTA 6 map is three times larger than the world of Red Dead Redemption 2, and Leonida will become the deepest, most densely populated, and most complex open world in the company's history.
Rockstar wants players not only to complete missions but also to simply “live” as Jason and Lucia.
I hope there are people who want to get up, have coffee, take a shower, get dressed, and go out for a little exercise.
