Bandai has announced a 28mm "Tamagotchi" ring, so in the future, gamers and others will have a new way to always be with their virtual pet.
Trailer for the ring from Bandai's YouTube channel
This product, the 39th in the main series, is about half the size of the original "Tamagotchi" released on November 23, 1996: that model was about 50mm long. The device features a 0.56-inch color LCD screen and allows users to raise a total of 30 characters.
Three versions of the ring are available — black and silver, blue and gold, and pink and pearl. The design consists of only 64 parts (52 electronic components and 12 plastic elements).
The iconic design of the original "Tamagotchi" — egg shape, LCD screen, and three buttons — remains unchanged, but now control is done via buttons on the left and right sides. Additionally, this is the first device in the "Tamagotchi" series that can be charged by placing it in a special case.
The new product can be pre-ordered for 7700 Japanese Yen (4148 rubles). The ring is expected to be shipped in February 2027.
