The Sims 4 Becomes More Inclusive - Free Content and Store Caching Added
In late August, Maxis Electronic Arts studio introduced another update for The Sims 4. This time, the creators of the life simulator prepared not only technical improvements but also new content.
Developers made changes to the in-game store's operation. Caching (temporary storage) of images was introduced – the idea is that this should reduce the loading time and volume when revisiting the store:
Temporary storage will automatically save data for 14 days from the last visit to the store, and also delete unnecessary images to free up space on the device. The maximum size of temporary storage is 250 MB, but the actual occupied volume is usually less.
The Sims 4 added content for the Create-A-Sim editor, which is “aimed at representing different body types” – clothing and looks will help adorn Sims of any physique.
In total, Maxis prepared 6 new clothing items – a versatile dress, a top, jeans, a cardigan, a shirt, and pants; 5 stylized looks, and 5 pre-made Sims designed to showcase the new sets. In addition, an Afro-style hairstyle was added.
Several bugs were also fixed:
- Fixed one of the most common causes of crashes on PlayStation, which led to crashes during game launch.
- If you go to the store from the Create-A-Sim editor and scroll through pages with the right joystick, the controls no longer stick.
- If you scroll through the content information page with the right joystick, the controls no longer stick.
