The creators of Dragon Quest presented the strategy game Conquista: Tide of Wills, which combines city-building simulation and 4X, where every resident has their own life, relationships, and ambitions.
The game is being developed by the Japanese studio MicroSimulation – Shueisha Games plans to release it on PC in the summer of 2027. The player will start with a small village and gradually transform it into a state: they will extract resources, build houses and roads, and develop industry and economy.
The main feature will be the residents. Each will have a name, profession, relationships, consciousness, and their own ambitions. They will work, shop, visit taverns, travel, and influence the development of society. For example, a soldier who lost his family during an attack may want to take revenge on the invaders.
However, residents will not always obey the ruler. They will be able to explore new territories, merchants will cross borders, and groups of citizens may establish their own settlement and declare independence. Rebellions, border changes, and alliances are also possible.
The project began as a solo development by Nagehiro Enatsu and, after several years, evolved into a full-fledged game with the support of Shueisha Games.
