This month, Cold Symmetry studio and Playstack publisher introduced Mortal Shell II. The game received "mostly positive" reviews on Steam, with a 74% rating after more than 14 thousand user reviews. Some players noted balance issues.
A week later, the creators of Mortal Shell II released the first major update, "The Week 1 Update" — with various improvements, as well as new content.
Among the new features: a new way to reallocate your shell's characteristics, changes to the Glimpses system, as well as new beacons and exploration system adjustments that will make movement through the world more dynamic. The counterattack system has been reworked, many bosses and weapons have been refined, and we have implemented extensive fixes and optimizations throughout the game.
New items have appeared in the game, for example, a special stone will allow you to respawn at the dungeon entrance (its durability will be consumed). Thanks to another item, players will be able to reset shell characteristics, after which spent glimpses will be returned.
The developers also said that they added "new secrets" and items to the game world; new beacons have appeared that will be active during the day; additional cosmetics can be unlocked by completing a certain quest chain.
Counterattacks have been adjusted: damage now depends on the enemy's health, so it will scale correctly in later stages of the game and in different game modes. The developers noted that from now on, "counterattack damage" is calculated and dealt directly by the counterattack itself — this will eliminate cases where it was dealt twice or not at all.

The game is available not only on PC, but also on PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
