CD Projekt RED participated in Gamescom and not only showcased the upcoming expansion Songs of the Past (or “Ballads of the Past” in Russian localization) but also demonstrated The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remaster. Footage of the gameplay has started to appear online.

The developers promise to improve graphics, refine the world traversal system and combat, and update the effects of Witcher Signs. CD Projekt RED will also rework the skill tree, improve monster behavior, update textures, ray tracing, global illumination, and more.

As reported, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remaster will run on Nintendo Switch 2 in handheld mode at 720p at 30-40 FPS, and in "docked" mode at 1080p at 30-40 FPS (owners of 120 Hz refresh rate displays can expect 40 frames).

On PlayStation 5 Pro, The Witcher 3 remaster will run at 60 FPS with ray tracing, and there will also be a "performance" mode with an unlocked frame rate. According to the developer, the game can deliver up to 90 FPS in this mode.

The release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remaster is scheduled for September 29 of this year. The Songs of the Past expansion does not yet have a specific release date, only a release window — 2027.

The developers confirmed that there will be a text translation into Russian, but no Russian voice acting. If the GamesVoice studio makes an unofficial localization, they will have to find another voice for Geralt, as the original voice actor has already refused to participate in such a project.
