Gamer complained that he turned on his old PS3 for MGS 4 and found out that Sony had disabled his account - he lost his games due to prolonged inactivity

In late August, KONAMI released the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2. Against this backdrop, one player decided to revisit the original version of one of the franchise's installments and encountered problems.

Virtualwears said he turned on his old PlayStation 3 console to play that very version of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots again. At first, the game wouldn't launch, and he thought it simply couldn't be played offline.

However, he then realized that things were much worse. He hadn't used the account for several years, so it was disabled due to inactivity. After that, Virtualwears explains, he lost access to his collection of digital games.

Sony deleted my entire account due to inactivity. I hate Sony, and this only intensified my hatred for them.

Now Virtualwears can play Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2 on PC or a modern console.

Some players oppose a complete transition to digital versions and try to conduct an "indefinite boycott" of the console and services to reduce PlayStation's online metrics.
