Recently, the "Grand Theft Auto VI: Extended Showcase" presentation took place. Rockstar Games demonstrated the PlayStation 5 version, but the game will also be available on Xbox Series X|S consoles.
After reviewing the gameplay, some players began to worry about how GTA VI might perform on the weaker Xbox Series S model. Owners of these consoles have already started asking questions like "should I buy a PlayStation 5 Pro to play GTA VI?".
Users expect that to achieve 30 frames per second on Xbox Series S, developers might significantly lower graphics quality/resolution.
But not everyone is worried about potential performance issues on the Xbox Series S. Discussion participants recalled a statement from the Take-Two boss. Several years ago, during a conversation with investors, he was asked if the team was concerned about potential issues with launching GTA VI on the Xbox Series S.
At the time, Strauss Zelnick replied that he wasn't particularly worried about it and noted that teams find ways to support platforms where consumers (players) are present:
We support the platforms where the consumers are, and we do so for as long as they remain relevant. We find ways to support those platforms, notwithstanding the varying levels of their technical capabilities. Our labels are very good at that. So I'm not particularly worried.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19 this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Nothing has been announced yet regarding the PC version's release window.
