GTA VI players won't break their gamepad buttons - Rockstar will change controversial mechanic

News

The original control scheme caused frustration during long runs.

The "Grand Theft Auto VI: Extended Showcase" presentation recently took place. Rockstar Games showcased gameplay, and a closed preview for the press and bloggers was also held.

Players' attention was drawn to information from MikeShowSha. According to the blogger, in Grand Theft Auto VI, the developers decided to change a mechanic that annoyed fans of the franchise.

Now, players on PlayStation 5 will not have to repeatedly press the "X" button for fast movement – running is activated by a single press of the "L3" stick.

It is also reported that players will have a choice: they can use the modern option with "L3" or switch to classic controls with "X".

Judging by the comments, many players approve of this decision. Some were concerned about the integrity of their gamepads due to frequent button presses, while others were unable to use running in this way due to health issues. This option will increase the game's accessibility.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19 this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Nothing has been reported yet about the PC version's release window.
