Not all Xbox games can be converted to digital versions - three giants are exceptions
Xbox cannot yet convert all disc games into digital licenses: Sega, Bandai Namco, and Square Enix are not participating in the Disc-to-Digital program.
The Positron (Disc-to-Digital) program, which allows replacing a physical disc with a digital license, is receiving positive feedback from Xbox Insider testers. The system currently works with 174 games, and the list is gradually expanding. These include 007 First Light, Alan Wake 2, and Hogwarts Legacy.
Previously, Xbox representative Jason Ronald stated that most physical games for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One would be compatible with Positron.

Publisher support remains an issue. Games from Sega, Square Enix, and some Bandai Namco projects do not yet work with the feature. However, other publishers have exceptions: Wolfenstein: The New Order and A Way Out are not supported, although Madden NFL 23 from Electronic Arts already works.
Microsoft will continue to expand the list of compatible games, and the mentioned publishers may join the program in the coming weeks.
