Recently, Valve experienced a massive leak of internal files. Dataminers are gradually exploring 12 TB of diverse content and sharing their findings. They found not only old versions of the Portal puzzle, but also materials related to the Half-Life franchise.
A full playable version of the much-desired "Half-Life 2: Episode Three" was not found, but a treasure was discovered while studying the beta version of Portal 2.
The focus was on a weapon that could be seen in the Half-Life 2 20th anniversary documentary.
Modders quickly assembled the "Episode 3 Weaponizer" project and published it on the "Steam Workshop" for Half-Life 2. Now players can use the device in the shooter (technically, it's a gravgun skin replacement).
In addition, hands from the HEV protective suit were found in the files, but they were not the characteristic orange color, but gray. Some players suggest that it could have been used for adventures in the Arctic.
These internal files contained materials related not only to Valve games, but also to some other projects. For example, it became known about the original ending of Mafia II - it could have been darker, and the story of Mafia III would have looked completely different in that case.
