Evan Dicken's novel "Blood of the Bastion" will soon be available for pre-order. The story centers on the adventures of Yao Kai, Master of the Serpent's Gate, as he attempts to uncover a Chaos conspiracy and protect Grand Cathay from mortal dangers.

Black Library has announced the novel "Blood of the Bastion" by Evan Dicken. This book offers another way to explore the Empire of the Celestial Dragon.

Veteran soldier Yao Kai finally fulfills his dream and is appointed Master of the Serpent's Gate – part of the Grand Bastion that protects the northern borders from the Chaos Wastes. However, he soon uncovers a conspiracy to destroy the Bastion, with the threat coming from within, not without.

This novel is full of intrigues and mysteries that Yao Kai must unravel to protect his kingdom, and for this, he may have to sacrifice everything he has achieved.

According to Evan, this book is about family, friendship, and the friction between personal desires and societal expectations. The characters will have to fight through the loss of power and noble privileges against the backdrop of an existential threat to Grand Cathay.
