Modder Adds Third-Person View to Cyberpunk 2077 with Reworked Animations and Camera Switching
Players will be able to use an alternative camera mode.
Events in Cyberpunk 2077 are shown from a first-person perspective. Not all players accepted this creative decision by CD Projekt RED and for many years called for an official third-person mode to be added to the game.
The mode never appeared, but modders offer various solutions. Recently, an enthusiast under the nickname CybrDrake presented his version of the third-person mode. This is not just an "alternative camera" — character animations have been refined:
Most animations for the female V were reworked from scratch, while some animations for the male V were fixed.
The modder noted that first-person and third-person animations are completely isolated from each other, meaning players can switch back to the FPS camera at any time and get the full original game experience, while the third-person view uses custom animations.
The "Immersive Third Person - Best Of Both Worlds" modification for Cyberpunk 2077 is distributed for free via Nexus Mods.
Currently, CD Projekt RED is developing a new installment of The Witcher 4 franchise, a remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and a story expansion Songs of the Past, as well as a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.
