GTA V ported to Nintendo Switch, gameplay shown

The port is generally playable, but overclocking is required to achieve comfortable FPS.

Recently, modders from Paralympics Productions reminded about their unofficial port of Grand Theft Auto V for Nintendo Switch. This is not an emulation of the game; the game has been fully ported to the portable console.

This became possible thanks to a leak of Rockstar Games materials: modders got access to the source code of Grand Theft Auto V. They used the game code to assemble a port that now successfully runs on Nintendo Switch.

The Grand Theft Auto V port weighs about 49 GB. The modder noted that overclocking will be required to achieve 30 FPS: alucardio_inc used the “safer” Sys-CLK, but if Horizon OC is used, the game port should run much better. If playing without overclocking at standard frequencies, you can get from 10 to 25 FPS depending on the scene.

Meanwhile, the Rockstar Games team is preparing to launch a new installment of the Grand Theft Auto VI franchise — the game's release is scheduled for November 19 this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Nothing has been reported yet about the PC version's release window.
