"Leave Them Alone": BioWare Veteran Names Condition for Successful New Mass Effect Development

News 0

After Dragon Age: The Veilguard, BioWare studio is making a new installment in the Mass Effect franchise. However, some players are concerned about the project's quality, and there's also an opinion that the game might not make it to release – Electronic Arts could cancel it.

Armando Troisi, a cinematic designer for the first Mass Effect games, recently participated in the FRVR podcast and expressed the opinion that BioWare can handle creating a new game and doesn't need advice for working on the project.

The specialist noted that the studio still employs professionals who worked on the original Mass Effect trilogy, and he trusts them. For example, he highlighted:

  • Preston Watamaniuk – Lead Designer.
  • Derek Watts – Art Director.
  • Parish Ley – Lead Cinematic Animator.

Troisi believes this is a case where specialists should be left to do their work:

This is one of those cases where you just need to get out of the way and let game creators do their thing. You never know what magic they can create. Of course, many different factors are at play when creating a game of this scale. But trust your people and try to change the world with everything you do. And I think they will succeed. I'm rooting for them.

The new Mass Effect does not yet have a specific release date or window.
