Retro Handhelds contacted Wild Li, a semi-official representative of Anbernic, through whom Western bloggers and journalists receive the first accurate insights, confirmed specifications, and information regarding future devices.
Thanks to him, they learned new details about the RG DS Plus portable console. It will occupy the budget segment of dual-screen devices, and 3DS support is not planned yet.
The new product will receive the same chip as the original RG DS — Rockchip RK3568. The team abandoned built-in eMMC memory to reduce the console's cost. The “Plus” in the name is due to the increase in the physical size of the device and screens.
The Anbernic RG DS Plus will feature improved ergonomics, and developers are collaborating with @TheGammaSqueeze to port GammaOS to the device. The console is equipped with 1GB of RAM (less than the 3GB in the previous version — GammaOS only requires 1GB).
