Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era to Get Two New Maps and Features - Update Teaser Released
The developers have prepared new content and other improvements.
Unfrozen studio recently shared its future plans for Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era. The developers are currently working on the next update and continue to study community feedback.
The upcoming patch "v. 0.80.49" includes two handcrafted maps — "Captives" and "Rusty Alliance". They have been further refined to give players "an unforgettable experience":
In "Rusty Alliance" — our first handcrafted map, available in a customizable lobby or hotseat mode — you will compete with former allies to see who can color the map in their faction's color faster. Lovingly recreated by the renowned mapmaker Papyjama, this classic will evoke a wave of nostalgia for veterans and provide a fresh experience for newcomers to the series.
There's a nuance: the "Rusty Alliance" map is only available to players via the "Custom Game" or "Hotseat" button (not via "Quick Start").
The "Captives" scenario will offer a new story where players lead a search party sent to rescue the commanders of a forward outpost who disappeared in the forests.
Later this month, the first major patch from the roadmap is being prepared for Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, which will add to the game:
- alliances (team play),
- new advanced random map generator features,
- improved reaction wheel,
- changes to the matchmaking system,
- ranking system updates,
- rating reset,
- various improvements
In the subsequent major patch, the developers promise to adjust balance aspects that "caused heated discussions in the community." For example, they will begin to address the problem of an excess of percentage modifiers for damage and defense.
