Recently, NextGenium studio published a new trailer for Godreaper. The developers position their project as a dark action-adventure with a third-person view.
The story centers on the bogatyr Zaremir, who will explore a world inspired by East Slavic mythology. The main character will have to unravel the mysteries of the dying lands and stop the catastrophe:
The familiar order collapsed when an unknown blight struck the roots of the World Tree. The poisonous decay blinded the gods: having lost their minds, the guardians of order turned into insane tyrants. While creatures from Navi feast on the ruins of villages, an inexorable horde advances from the east to the borders of the homeland.
As their benchmarks for creating Godreaper's gameplay, the authors used projects such as God of War and Elden Ring — from which they "took everything they are loved for:
- The feel of the weapon and a living blade;
- Variety of combat mechanics and freedom in battle;
- Harsh bosses and cold-blooded creatures;
- The dark atmosphere of a dying world;
