Will GTA VI launch on PC soon after console release? GTA V on PS5 emulator already runs at up to 60 FPS

After Sony's summer announcement about discontinuing PlayStation game discs, various projects to create PlayStation 5 emulators began to attract increased attention. Tech enthusiasts continue to work, and significant progress can already be seen with some games.

For example, a user under the nickname BrutalSam published a short gameplay recording of Grand Theft Auto V on the KyTyPS5 emulator on a social network. About a month ago, when trying to play this Rockstar Games project, the emulator would freeze, but now it's possible to play the prologue – core mechanics and physics work, and the frame rate can be raised to 60 (overall, the game runs in the 40 – 60 FPS range).

The test was conducted on a PC with AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT and AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D.

The gameplay recording of Grand Theft Auto V on the PlayStation 5 emulator can be viewed at the following link. Some players hope that by the release of GTA VI, the emulator will be improved enough to play the new installment before the PC version's release.

However, during the gameplay demonstration, the developers clearly indicated that the new game would be "heavier" than GTA V. Therefore, it's hard to imagine that KyTyPS5 will be improved enough in the remaining two months to comfortably play GTA VI on PC.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19 this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Rockstar Games and Take-Two have not officially announced anything about the PC version's release window, but rumors suggest that the gap between console and PC releases might be shorter this time.
