Gran Turismo 8 has not been officially announced, although new job openings at Polyphony Digital hint that the studio is already working on the next installment of the racing series.
Currently, the developers are looking for engine programmers, graphics specialists, AI, sound, car simulation, and network infrastructure specialists, as well as interface designers and technical artists.
The vacancy for a car simulation programmer is particularly interesting. The specialist will be responsible for developing the car simulation system and reproducing the unique characteristics of different models. This is one of the key elements of Gran Turismo, known for its realistic car physics.
The project name is not specified in the vacancies, but fans believe that it refers to Gran Turismo 8. Gran Turismo 7 continues to receive updates, and the development of a new numbered installment could take several years.
