Gaijin Network, known to many players for War Thunder, is publishing the Active Matter project from Matter Team studio. The game is currently being prepared for release on Steam and consoles, and the developers recently announced a collaboration with the legendary Silent Hill composer.
Akira Yamaoka specifically wrote compositions for Active Matter with completely different moods: "From the fragile acoustics of 'I'm Here' and the lingering blues of 'Porcelain Heart' to the driving 'Neon Decay'."
Akira Yamaoka spoke about his work on Active Matter:
In this project, I was given freedom of expression. Instead of forcing music into categories, I simply focused on what I sincerely wanted to express during this period of my life. I experimented, mixed acoustic instruments with electronic textures, and searched for those unconventional sounds that would become the soul of the Active Matter world.
Active Matter is scheduled for release on September 15, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. You can add the game to your Steam wishlist via the following link.
Active Matter is an extraction shooter. Players are invited to take on the role of operatives stuck in a time loop. They go on raids, during which they can encounter anomalies and competitors from other timelines.
