No Man's Sky Receives Free Cosmos Update - Featuring Star System Map, Outposts, and Alliances

News 0

In September, Hello Games studio returned to No Man's Sky and introduced a major update 7.0, named Cosmos. New content and gameplay mechanics were added to the game to help arrange cosmic space.

Players have access to a "star system map" — an interactive map that will display celestial bodies, significant locations, and signals. Any object or planet can be marked to activate the ship's navigation system.

Outposts have been added: here you can process resources, trade, and get quests.

There are also infected outposts — these abandoned structures are infected with "invasive, spreading biological slime." Players will be able to extract resources in such locations.

  • "Abandoned hulks" have appeared — remains of colossal ships from which players can extract resources. This must be done carefully, as there is a risk of explosion.
  • "Asteroid belts" have been introduced, where resources can be mined.
  • It will be possible to buy a space station and unite with other players in "alliances."
  • The rendering system for planetary landscape details has been reworked — developers said they improved tessellation methods, increased detail, and enhanced textures.
