This is not a new game release, but a change in the approach to launching Ubisoft Entertainment games through Steam. Currently, when opening the publisher's games, the company's launcher also opens.
The implementation of the new policy begins with Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown – developers will test the new "Ubisoft Connect Services" on Steam. It should ensure the operation of various features of Ubisoft games – progress transfer between platforms, cross-platform play, player security, challenges and rewards, etc.
For this, the developers explain, it will no longer be necessary to install or launch the Ubisoft Connect launcher.
According to Ubisoft, this first version is "the first step towards a smoother and more optimized game launch experience through Steam." The developers plan to continue improving Ubisoft Connect Services and provide players with "the services and features they use and expect, while making the experience with Steam as convenient as possible."
Ubisoft Connect Services are planned to be gradually implemented into other Steam versions of the company's games.
