Many years later, various details of Red Dead Redemption 2's production continue to be revealed. For example, fans recently noticed an interview with the actor who played the main character, Arthur Morgan.
As it turned out, the character's convincing cough wasn't entirely the result of acting. Roger Clark, in a conversation with Cade Onder, the author of a YouTube channel, explained that he worked on Red Dead Redemption 2 for five years, and during that time, "there were many colds."
As a result, Roger says, the developers got "a lot of material that turned out to be very authentic":
I'd say to them, "Hey, I've got a cold here — let me record." And they'd say, "Okay"... in the end, it turned out well — with a good amount of phlegm.
The actor wasn't always sick, and the heavy coughing put a significant strain on his voice. Therefore, Clark explains, the RDR 2 developers always scheduled such recordings for the end of the day if they needed to record a scene with a truly strong cough.
Rockstar Games is currently preparing for the release of Grand Theft Auto VI, scheduled for November 19 this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
