Valve optimized Steam and is testing a new interface with game covers and a screensaver - a beta update for Big Picture Mode has been released

In September, Valve introduced a beta update for the Steam client with new features for Big Picture Mode.

Developers are inviting players to test the "Big Art Mode" feature — a full-fledged screen saver will be available in Big Picture Mode.

This is what it looks like: most of the screen is freed up (for example, the news feed and recommendations are removed), and the list of games is moved to the bottom, which allows the background image to be fully displayed.

In addition, a screensaver (Screensaver - Big Picture Mode) has been added to Steam. By default, it will display a slideshow of game images; players will be able to add their own pictures. There is also an option with a "floating" logo.

The developers have also started testing a fix for a problem related to steamwebhelper. The developers reported that "a problem has been resolved where the steamwebhelper process could heavily load the CPU when certain events were displayed in the library tab."
