Ubisoft Shut Down For Honor - For Steam Deck and Linux Players

News 0

In September, Ubisoft Entertainment closed access to For Honor for players using the Linux operating system or running the online action game on Steam Deck. This is due to the implementation of a new anti-cheat solution.

To foster a fair competitive environment, the team is implementing additional player protection measures. We are removing For Honor from the Linux platform as we cannot provide the effective protection necessary for security on it.

The developers of For Honor noted that they will continue to explore various ways to improve the anti-cheat system and "do not rule out the possibility of reopening access to the game on [Linux/Steam Deck] in the future."

Some members of the Linux community criticized the decision by the creators of For Honor. They enjoyed the game, but now they cannot access it from their usual OS. During the discussion, players stated that they would try to demand refunds for the game.

Also, during the discussion, players offered a disgruntled "alternative" — for example, they could try something single-player, like Cyberpunk 2077.
