GTA VI may feature a 32-player online mode – the mention was found in Rockstar documents submitted as part of an employment dispute in Edinburgh.
The information appeared in Rockstar's testimony in a case concerning the dismissal of 31 former studio employees. According to the documents, employees discussed features of a confidential project on a private Discord server, among which an "online format for 32 players" was mentioned. Rockstar called such information one of the company's most closely guarded secrets.
However, the document does not confirm that GTA VI Online will be designed for exactly 32 participants. It only indicates that such an option was discussed within the studio. It is unknown whether it will make it into the final version of the game or become the only format for online play.
Rockstar compared the protection of GTA VI information to Apple's iPhone security and the Coca-Cola recipe. Guests sign NDAs, photography is prohibited, and contractors are accompanied by security. Earlier, Bloomberg reported that Rockstar does not yet plan to reveal details about GTA VI Online.
