The project was introduced by Dan Hay, who worked as a producer for Far Cry and on the latest numbered installments of the franchise. He is now leading the development of StarCraft. According to the specialist, it will be an open-world shooter.

Currently, the game is known simply as "StarCraft," without a subtitle or number. The video description includes a synopsis:

The sons and daughters of the Dominion answered the call when humanity needed them most. Their courage allowed [humanity to be protected]. Their sacrifice allowed us to endure. Now the call is to you. Continue their work – no matter the cost.

There is no specific release date for the new StarCraft yet – at the end of the promo video, the developers left a message that they "will return in 2030."

Earlier, there were rumors that Blizzard Entertainment might be planning a new StarCraft strategy game, which was allegedly to be made by South Korean developers.
