In 2023, Marvel's Avengers was removed from sale, and in September 2026, players noticed this game in PlayStation Collection promotional materials — the cover can be seen to the right of the image of Wolverine from the upcoming Marvel's Wolverine.
This collection included various popular games: Marvel's Spider-Man, Marvel Cosmic Invasion, Lego Marvel Super Heroes, Marvel Rivals, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Marvel's Midnight Suns, Marvel vs. Capcom, and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.
The appearance of Marvel's Avengers among such projects sparked rumors of a potential return of the game. No official announcements have been made yet. It is possible that this could be a simple error in the creation of marketing materials.
