This month, fans of the Star Wars franchise marked a sad date. Five years have passed since the announcement of the remake of the role-playing game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
Recently, another reason to remember this project emerged. Lucasfilm Games published a trailer showcasing various projects across different franchises – both previously released ones like Star Wars Jedi Survivor and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, as well as new (or upcoming) releases: Star Wars Zero Company and Star Wars: Galactic Racer.
In addition, the selection included long-in-development projects: Star Wars Eclipse and the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake. Old footage was used for the demonstration.
The inclusion of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake in the selection is surprising: there were previous reports of development problems, and rumors circulated that the project might be scrapped altogether. The appearance of this game in the recent Lucasfilm Games promo video indicates that the remake still exists in some form and has not been quietly canceled.
