Star Fox Creator Criticized for Using AI

News 0

Recently, AI opponents attacked a well-known developer. Star Fox creator Takaya Imamura found himself in the crosshairs of anti-AI activists due to his social media post.

Imamura decided to share his impressions of interacting with AI. The developer admitted that the dialogue with AI awakened feelings in him that he had previously experienced when discussing ideas with real programmers:

Good morning. I am currently testing game creation using artificial intelligence. Exchanging ideas in dialogue with AI, I suddenly felt the same feeling I used to have when discussing with programmers in the spirit of "let's do it this way, and this - that way," and creating a game with them... What an amazing time we live in...

Opponents of artificial intelligence quickly reacted to the publication. They pointed out ethical problems of using AI to the developer, and also noted that generative models are based on stolen materials from other people. In addition, users warned that the use of AI would lead to a complete loss of trust from players.

Imamura responded to the criticism and explained that he is engaged in game development research at the university. He himself is not a programmer, and AI technologies allow him to turn ideas into a "working game":

I fully understand your point of view. However, given my profession, I simply cannot ignore AI, so I am experimenting with it in test mode. I am not a programmer, so I am genuinely amazed at how AI can fill this gap and really help me turn my ideas into a working game.
