American Truck Simulator to Feature Courier Gigs and Car Relocation - New Gameplay in Road Trip Mode
Players will get additional ways to earn money.
The developers of the truck driver simulator American Truck Simulator have published a new development diary for the Road Trip mode. Players will be able to explore the game world in regular cars.
SCS Software studio showed new gameplay footage and revealed some additional details related to working with cars. Players will be able to take on part-time jobs, for example, acting as a courier or relocating cars between dealerships.
To perform "quick jobs," players will not have to buy their own car — the transport will be provided by the client company. Fuel, repairs, and other expenses will also be covered by the company, as is the case with truck orders in the main American Truck Simulator.
Courier orders have nuances. For example, clients will expect players at a specific time: in such cases, both being late and arriving early will be undesirable options.
Clients will evaluate order fulfillment based on three categories: vehicle condition, task completion time, and cargo integrity. The resulting "courier rating" will determine the types of orders available to players.
If you maintain a sufficiently high rating, you can take on more complex work. A bonus may be awarded for a series of perfect deliveries (with the maximum rating).
The release date for the Road Trip mode with regular cars for American Truck Simulator has not yet been announced. You can add the Ford Car Pack and RAM & Dodge Car Pack DLCs to your Steam wishlist here and here.
The developers are also preparing to soon bring back in-game events related to DLCs, as well as seasonal events, to Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator.
