GTA VI did not receive a gameplay trailer because the game is "extremely difficult" to showcase in that format

This summer, the “Grand Theft Auto VI: Extended Showcase” presentation took place. Rockstar Games showed a lot of gameplay footage: it was possible to see mission walkthroughs, as well as various activities.

However, some players expected a traditional trailer: a short video with a compilation of gameplay moments and narrator's comments.

Ben (@videotech), a well-known blogger in the GTA and Red Dead Redemption communities, drew players' attention to a retelling of Rob Nelson's statement.

The head of Rockstar North studio previously spoke with Andy Cortez from the Kinda Funny Games podcast and explained why they didn't make such a gameplay trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, and instead held an extended showcase.

According to Cortez, Nelson explained that Rockstar Games didn't want to make a video with a narrator because they had done similar things before, and GTA VI is very difficult to showcase — it has so much in it.

Cortez retold Rob Nelson's statement during the podcast:

We didn't want to do something with a voiceover. That's been done before, and this game [GTA VI] is generally very difficult to showcase because there's so much cool stuff in it.
