After Level-5's latest presentation, fans noticed characteristic artifacts indicating the use of generative AI, including changing environmental details, inconsistencies in character appearances, and animation elements.
Level-5 President and CEO Akihiro Hino confirmed that generative AI was indeed used in preparing the materials to make the show more spectacular. He admitted that the company went too far and apologized to those who found such use of technology unpleasant.
Hino emphasized that Level-5 primarily uses AI to digitize human work, such as converting artist-created materials into 3D models. According to him, thoughtlessly generated elements should not appear in finished games.
The head of the company also previously stated plans to reduce the development of large projects from approximately five years to two with the help of AI.
