In September, Redemption Road studio and tinyBuild publisher reminded everyone about the Kingmakers project. The developers held a 12-minute gameplay presentation.
According to the plot, the player acts as the "last hope of a dying world." You need to travel 500 years back in time — to medieval England — to change the course of the war and try to prevent the apocalypse.
The main character (or characters — there's a four-player co-op mode) will be able to use modern arsenal and equipment in the past war: it is necessary to support Owain Glyndŵr's rebellion against Henry V.
Kingmakers gameplay combines battles with huge armies and strategic elements: you can gather resources and acquire new equipment, as well as construct buildings. The strategic interface is stylistically reminiscent of projects like Manor Lords, Age of Empires, Stronghold.
Enemy officers can be captured, then sold, interrogated, or executed to boost the morale of your fighters.
The developers promise to offer players 30 to 40 hours of content.
