Capcom Unveils Onimusha: Way of the Sword Prequel in Free Comic
Capcom has released a free webcomic - a prequel to Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the first chapter of which reveals the story of Sasaki Ganryu's humiliating defeat in a duel with Miyamoto Musashi, playing on the famous Japanese legend.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword has received a free prequel in the form of a webcomic, the first chapter of which tells the story of events before the game begins and the confrontation between Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Ganryu.
In the game itself, Ganryu mentions a previous encounter with Musashi, the details of which are revealed in the new comic. The first chapter shows Ganryu's humiliating defeat and uses a motif from the real Japanese legend of the famous duel.
According to tradition, Musashi used an improvised wooden sword made from an oar during the duel and defeated his opponent, who did not want to wait any longer for his arrival.
The artwork is by Lauren Pursuit. The comic is available for free on Webtoon in eight chapters.
