Injustice 3 may be in the late stages of development: the announcement for testing an unnamed AAA fighting game in California contains several hints at a new NetherRealm title.
The recruitment of participants for testing was organized by Good Gamers Group, and the tests will take place in Culver City, where Warner Bros. Discovery, which owns NetherRealm Studios, is located. The game itself is described as an "AAA 2D fighting game," which excludes Virtua Fighter Crossroads and Dead or Alive 7 with their three-dimensional battles.
Other signs also point to Injustice 3. After the release of Mortal Kombat 1 in 2023, NetherRealm has not released a new major game, and recently the studio has been recruiting employees for various positions. In 2025, the voice actors for Superman and Aquaman from previous Injustice games accidentally hinted at a return to their roles, although they later retracted these statements.
There is no confirmation yet: another Warner Bros. game could be tested, including the previously announced mobile DCKO. Its scale is unlikely to match the phrase "AAA 2D fighting game."
