Escape from Tarkov Adds Competitive Leagues, Fixes Lighthouse, Sights, and Location Transitions

News

Performance should no longer drop when using certain sights.

The developers of Escape from Tarkov announced the release of update 1.1.5.1. It adds a new competitive system called "Leagues" to the game, which was teased last week.

Leagues will only be available for seasonal characters (PvP Seasons). After the first raid, the player will be placed in a group of 50 users of their rank. Each "group" is a leaderboard: the player's position in it will be determined by the amount of experience they earn during the week.

For the "League," experience gained from eliminating PMCs, Scavs, and Bosses, completing quests, examining items, and so on will be taken into account:

The more experience you earn, the higher you will be on your leaderboard. At the end of the week, the top 25 players are promoted in rank, 15 remain at their current rank, and 10 drop lower.

There's a nuance: experience earned in EFT: Arena will NOT be counted in "Leagues," but it will still be credited to the character.

Upon first achieving a rank in the "League," players will receive a corresponding reward. In case of rank loss, rewards will not be taken away — they will remain with the player forever. Received rewards will be available in all modes.

Some other changes and improvements:

  • Fixed performance drop when aiming with a collimator or iron sight on hybrid sights, such as ELCAN SpecterDR
  • Fixed unavailability of transitions after a series of transitions from other locations and subsequent progress reset for some quests;
  • Fixed incorrect calculation of bullet pack cost when selling to traders;
  • Fixed a number of visual issues on the Lighthouse location.
