In mid-September, Blizzard Entertainment introduced the 15th season for Diablo IV, titled Hell's Legacy.
The launch was not smooth: the developers soon reported problems and a delay in the season's start. Community members noted that “these same people are working on Diablo V” — so they fear that “nothing will change” in the new installment of the franchise.
In this season, the authors offer players the activity “Nightmares Manifest”. These are events of various types, including standard and multi-level dungeons that “recreate the events of historical battles with the incarnations of the Prime Evils”. For Diablo IV, familiar levels from previous games were recreated, such as the Den of Evil from Diablo II.
Players will also have to defeat the Echo of Diablo in the Catacombs of Tristram Cathedral, the Echo of Baal on the summit of Mount Arreat, and the Echo of Mephisto in the Durance of Hate. By completing the seasonal questline and defeating all incarnations of the Prime Evils, players can obtain three “Needles of Evil” that will imbue their character with special power.
In honor of the new season's start, the developers launched a promotion: Diablo IV became temporarily free. This promotion will be available to players on Steam and will last until September 21, 8:00 PM Moscow time (Monday). Discounts on the main game and additional content will be available until September 24.
