Sony has revealed two models of gaming headsets. Both expand on the ideas of the Pulse Elite and feature enlarged planar magnetic drivers. Sony promises deeper bass, high detail, and precise sound positioning, which should help players pinpoint the location of footsteps and other sounds.
PlayStation Pulse and Pulse Edge support PlayStation Link with lossless audio transmission and low latency. The headsets can be used with PS5, PlayStation Portal, PC, and Mac, and can also connect via Bluetooth. Both models feature AI-powered noise-canceling microphones.
The Pulse Edge features larger drivers with eight magnets instead of four, active noise cancellation, a detachable microphone, game and chat balance adjustment on PS5, an audio jack, and a carrying case. Even without the main microphone, a built-in hidden microphone works.
Both headsets will be available in White and Midnight Black colors. The Pulse will be released in select markets in late 2026, and the Pulse Edge in early 2027. Sony has not yet disclosed prices or exact dates.
