In September, SK Team studio and publisher Valkyrie Initiative announced the release of Stones Keeper: Director's Cut. This is a remaster of the Russian turn-based tactical role-playing game, the original version of which was released four years ago.
This remaster was released as a free update for Stones Keeper. The game received a lot of improvements, and after that, the name in the store was changed to "Stones Keeper: Director's Cut".
The developers said that they ported the campaign to an improved engine, and also "rewrote the plot and dialogues, reworked the visual component, added full animations, and significantly expanded the game mechanics."
Some improvements and changes:
- New animations for all combat units, characters, objects on the world map, fortress interior, and main menu are presented.
- Gameplay has been refined — controls have been reworked, new mechanics "Zone of Control" and "Backstab" have appeared, the development system has been expanded, and the balance has been updated.
- More features have been added to the campaign, for example, new mercenaries and additional battles are available.
