After 20 years, Garry's Mod continues to improve - the sandbox has become more technologically advanced and received new content
Now you can use the 64-bit client version.
In September, Facepunch Studios returned to Garry’s Mod and released an update with technical improvements and more.
64-bit binaries have been added for the Windows game client, dedicated servers, and most developer tools, such as Hammer.
Switching to the 64-bit version can help reduce the number of Garry’s Mod crashes:
This will reduce the risk of exhausting the 32-bit memory address space and, as a result, crashes when playing on busy servers or when installing a large number of add-ons (mods). The 64-bit game client can be selected in the launch settings in Steam.
In addition, new content has been prepared for Garry’s Mod. The developers said that a new variety of characters (NPCs) “Hacked Manhacks” has been added to the spawnmenu, and tabs can now have subcategories.
The player model selection menu has been redesigned: the developers added categories; increased the size of the models and improved their display. Now it will be possible to get a more accurate idea of how the character will look in the game world.
