Games Workshop Team Showcases Their Cargo-8 Roughneck Conversions from Warhammer: Necromunda

The Warhammer Design Studio staff – Games Workshop's internal creative department – decided to show Necromunda tabletop game fans their conversions of Cargo-8 Roughneck vehicles.

Such machines are ideal for traversing dunes thanks to their massive wheels and powerful engines, towing trailers with armored containers and transport wagons through the Great Equatorial Wastes. It takes very little effort to turn them into a mobile fortress, ready to repel ambushes and gang raids.

Lucy placed wreckage from an Arvus Lighter shuttle on the tractor and installed a drill blade from a Goliath Rockgrinder truck on the front. Graham modified a Munitorum armored container to look more like the body of a modern police van. The main cabin was slightly altered to match the Enforcers' armor and their loyal Cyber-Mastiff (who took pride of place, sticking his head out the window).

Paul added several trailers to the Cargo-8 and sanded down the tread on all 32 wheels so that each one was the same height.

And Dean decided to go all out. For his conversion, he used the Galvanic Servohaulers terrain set, consisting of two tractors and an impressively sized crane. Dean covered the truck cabins with plasticard and metal mesh to give the models a more massive look.
